Assistive Listening Devices

Hearing Assistive Technology or Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) are designed to help people who are deaf or hard of hearing.  They are intended to enhance speech or ensure effective alerting in the home.  Examples are amplified phone ringer, vibration alarm clocks, or television enhancers.  Please check out The Hearing Clinic Shop for our selection of products.

TED Program

The TED Program enables individuals to stay in contact with family, friends, and service providers. To receive the equipment, at no cost from the State of MN, a person must meet the qualification listed on the application. To obtain an application, you will need a hearing test. The application includes a form to be completed by your audiologist. Contact us for an appointment.

The types of equipment distributed include but are not limited to:

• Amplified ringers and/or telephone
• Amplified phone with captions
• Flashing ring signalers
• Hands-free speaker phones for people who are mobility impaired
• Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TTYs)
• TTYs with large visual displays for people who are deaf and visually impaired
• TTYs with Braille output for people who are deaf and blind and read Braille
• Wireless Cell Phone
